Fight Aging and Joint Pain with Collagen · 4 min read

Look and feel younger while growing luxurious hair

Over the past 30 plus years, I have been involved in competitive contact sports in one way or another. From football, wrestling to MMA my body has been through the wringer. I’ve had countless bumps, bruises, cuts and serious joint injuries during that time. Injuries happen all the time. It’s part of competitive sports. When you add like contact sports, the risk increases exponentially. That doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t get involved in sports or fitness though.

If you don’t exercise then you greatly increase the chance that you will develop some kind of serious illness. Which is much worse than any injury you may experience through sports or fitness related training. So, your best option is to avoid injury while you train. As a professional athlete, I can use coaches and other resources to keep my training as smart and as safe as possible. As safe as possible for fighting someone can be.

Along with smart and safe training practices, I use supplementation to retain my body's suppleness. As you put stress on your body you break it down so it can build itself back up stronger than it was before. However, if you aren’t putting the nutrients into your body that it needs to build itself back up you will wither away and break down. Resulting in injury.

Suppleness is the key to avoiding injury and fighting against aging.

Recently, I have added Collagen Protein to my supplement regiment to help with this. I was already taking type II bioavailable collagen complex as a part of my treatment for my neck pain. Since starting the use of the Collagen Protein along with my regular whey protein shakes, I have noticed less joint pain in my hips and elbows. I’ve also noticed some other beneficial side effects.

Things that help keep this old man looking and feeling better than people half my age.

Collagen is the most abundant protein in your body. It is a major part of the connective tissues in your tendons, ligaments, skin and muscles. As you age though, your body will produce less and less collagen. In a way, this makes you more brittle. This leads to dry and fragile skin as well as weaker joints. Adding Collagen Protein in with your regular daily shakes can help your body pick up the slack. Especially since taking it may stimulate your body to make more collagen of its own. As well as possibly promoting the production of other proteins like elastin and fibrillin.

Within a couple of weeks of using the collagen protein, I noticed my hair seemed to be getting a little thicker and my skin seemed more, supple. Thicker hair doesn’t exactly do anything for me as an MMA fighter but supple skin is important. Abrasions and cuts are a regular occurrence in the fight game. Having skin that is supple and elastic helps with avoiding simple things like mat burn and more serious issues like getting a cut that requires stitches. Nothing worse than missing out on training or pulling out of a fight because of a small cut around the eye.

Even if you are not a competitive athlete you will still benefit from more supple and elastic skin. Less dry skin means less time and money spent on lotions. Plus, the use of collagen has shown decreases in wrinkle depth, which is big for anyone who wants to slow down the aging process.

The other big reason for me adding collagen protein to my shakes is joint pain. Collagen aids in keeping the cartilage in your joints healthy. As you get older your cartilage gets worn down and less rubbery. It can lose its suppleness just like your skin can. This leads to joint pain and possible injury. None of us want to be restricted in our daily lives by joint pain. Collagen Protein has been shown to relieve some of this pain.

When you start using Collagen Protein as part of your nutritional routine you will be fighting back against deterioration through aging. You accomplish this by putting the nutrients back into your body that it needs to stay supple. It’s not enough to just take the supplements though. You have to keep up with your weight lifting and high-intensity cardio. Those things put together will increase your body's lean muscle mass, which in turn increases your metabolism. Metabolism is another one of those things that you lose as you age.

If you are tired of missing out on simple activities because of joint pain then its time you gave collagen a chance. There is evidence that suggests collagen use can significantly reduce joint pain, allowing you to take part in more physical activities. What would you be able to accomplish if you had less joint pain and were able to move about the world more freely? Would you be more productive at work? Would you have a better ability to play with your children or grandchildren? Go on long walks or even push harder in the gym?

Give yourself a boost of confidence from thicker, more luxurious hair. Fight back against aging by keeping your skin supple, hydrated and significantly reduce the depth of the wrinkles you already have. Build lean muscle to raise your metabolism and look better in your clothes. Give yourself the freedom to do the activities you want to do without suffering from joint pain.

Using the necessary supplements along with the right meal plan and fitness routine is a surefire way to improve your quality of life. Start using a high-grade Collagen Protein paired with resistance training and see results in a little as a few weeks. Don’t wait around until you become wrinkly and pruned. Don’t wait for your joints to wear out to the point they need to be corrected or replaced with painful and expensive surgery. Start using collagen and see and feel the improvements.
